f-spot and Ubuntu 8.10 where are the editing tools?

It took me quite a while to work this out and I relied on a hint from an archived Ubuntu forum  (but then again I am actually an idiot – the title is not ironic) but if you are wrondering where all your editing tools have gone in f-spot they are now on the side pane.

To get to these: Press F9 this brings up the side pane.

You then need to click on a drop down menu in the top left to select “Edit” from choices of “Tags”, “Metadata” and “Edit”

this then gives you all the editing goodness that you are used to.  The attached screenie shows where the side pane and the drop down are:
